Meditation
for curious humans.

We meditate. We talk. We move. We sit around being confused and curious and occasionally relieved. We experiment with attention, care, and equanimity, and see what actually helps when life gets intense, messy, or weird (which is often).

These events range from weekly, low-pressure community sits to multi-day retreats, workshops, and collaborations with other teachers I love. All are beginner-friendly. Come as you are, practice what you can, and it’s ok if you fall asleep.

These events are chances to practice together,
in real time, with real bodies and real nervous systems.

The world is filled with so many interesting things! People doing stuff, going places, making things happen. It’s all very exciting.

This is not about any of that.

This retreat is less structured and more spacious, with room for silence, movement, wandering, and the kinds of insights that tend to arrive when we stop trying so hard. We’ll meditate, talk, move our bodies, spend time outdoors, and explore the simple core skills of practice that quietly support everything else.

Meditation, Movement, Mystery

May 13-17, 2026

Ofosu Jones-Quartey and I are co-leading a smaller group in a few days of practice, conversation, and creative exploration—designed with different nervous systems in mind. We’ll work with meditation, yes, but at a pace that works for you, with sensory-safe spaces, relaxing soundbaths, and lots of outdoor time.

Meditate, Relate and Creatively Self-Regulate: A Retreat for Neurodivergent Humans

July 16-19, 2026

This retreat is about what meditation actually teaches us about being human. We’ll explore resistance and fixation, stuck emotions and stuck views—and the quieter skills that help loosen them: clarity, equanimity, care. The aim is simple: to leave the weekend with a clearer sense of why you practice, and a more intimate feel for your own strange and beautiful way of doing it.

All experience levels welcome.

Being Human Takes Practice - New York

August 14-16, 2026

A do-nothing party with friends who take meditation seriously—and themselves less so.

Sebene Selassie, Dan Harris, and I are getting together for a few days of practice, conversation, and reckless conviviality. There will be plenty of meditation, but this is not a silent retreat. We also talk, connect, and experiment with bringing practice into actual life.

Being Human Takes Practice – North Carolina

October 23-25, 2026

Time slowed down and space opened up. It stopped feeling really rushed. I could finally hold things inside myself that I had been needing to hold because I was supported – quietly, subtly – by the room. I could also choose to NOT hold things. Acknowledge they were there and turn away. I felt taken care of. I learned. I felt welcomed.

Accessible, challenging, insightful and real. This retreat will remind you or show you that being human is imperfect and beautiful.

Jeff’s ability to offer deep insight while being humorous struck just the night tone for me. His thoughtful responses to everyone who spoke were generous and insightful. I just wish the retreat was longer.”
