How to Meditate, Relate and Creatively Self-Regulate – North Carolina

A meditation retreat for neurodivergent humans

Hey friends!

We’re Jeff Warren and Ofosu Jones-Quartey, and we’re thrilled to be co-leading a brand new retreat for neurodivergent humans next July 2026.

Jeff is an ADHD and bipolar meditation teacher and writer, author of a couple of books, and a contributor to meditation apps like Calm and Happier, as well as Substack. He lives with and loves a whole community of “neurospicy” folks—his partner Sarah is autistic and has ADHD, his two kids keep him guessing—and this has led to his passion for customizing meditation and spiritual practices for different nervous systems.

Ofosu is a meditation teacher, hip-hop artist, and author who has lived with OCD for over 20 years. His practice and art both reflect a lifelong journey of learning how to meet the mind with compassion and creativity, and how to translate that into accessible practices for others.

Together, we’re creating a space that’s about way more than meditation (although that will definitely be part of it). We’ll explore a wide variety of practices—from movement to art to sharing strategies for navigating this strange, hard, and beautiful life.

We’ll be supported by Rachel Adelman and Matt Bernatek, along with a neurodivergent-affirming psychotherapist.

We’re only taking 50 people this first year. If you’re interested, we’ll soon be taking applications. Plug your email in here to get on the list, and stay tuned to this page for more details!

Other Art of Living perks (from the Art of Living website):

“Set amidst 380+ breathtaking acres of pristine forest high up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Boone, North Carolina, the Art of Living Retreat Center is a renowned sanctuary of peace that eases the mind and inspires the soul.

Watch the sun rise over the mountaintops, rejuvenate with an Ayurvedic body treatment, or feel the quiet of a walk in the forest. The Center supports both community groups and solo travellers. This is a place to make all your own, and our staff is here to help you do just that.”

Jeff’s Do Nothing Project streams for free every Sunday night; his guided meditations reach millions through the Happier and Calm apps, as well as through his Substack, Home Base.

Jeff’s mission is to empower people to care for their mental health, through the realistic and sometimes giddy exploration of meditation and personal growth practices. He is proudly ADHD and bipolar and champions a neurodivergent outlook on life and practice.
