The CEC’s virtual summer “Meditate – Celebrate – Activate” retreat happens August 6-8, 2021. This retreat is unique for the way it builds on mindfulness and meditation practices, taking insights from the cushion and applying them immediately to interactive community good-times.
This weekend retreat will be a relaxed and practical distillation of what meditators have been learning for 3,000 years. There will be meditation, and some movement, and – gasp!– actual interpersonal connection. Also (bad) jokes.
The world is crazy. Meditation is sanity. The intention of this five-day residential retreat is to empower everyone – including people not remotely interested in becoming a “teacher” – to think about and care for their own mental health and the mental health of others. The retreat format means participants will have an opportunity to do their own meditating, thus bringing personal insights back with them into the collective learning.
Think of this weekend retreat in the North Carolina mountains as Being Human School. It’s a relaxed and practical distillation of what meditators have been learning for 3,000 years. There will be meditation, some discussion, also: jokes.
